larwill-support-pols12Ruth and Murray Larwill, Directors of Bloom Asia

Bloom’s Directors Ruth and Murray Larwill have a passion for seeing trafficked and at-risk women rescued and restored.

Ruth has worked tirelessly for a number of years conducting vocational training in Cambodia and Nepal - all with the full support of her husband Murray. Together with their sons Tristan and Brodie, the Larwills have moved from their sunny Brisbane home to live in Cambodia to establish the first Bloom Training Centre in Phnom Penh.

Ruth says, ‘Human trafficking is such an enormous and complex issue that it’s easy to think it’s impossible to make a difference. But imagine it was you, or your sister or daughter, enslaved and abused night after night. Then imagine a thousand people standing by explaining that there is nothing they can do for you, that it’s too hard…  the problem is too big.

To see a girl smile again and understand that she was created for a purpose and with value is what Bloom is all about. It’s about stopping and looking into the eyes of the ‘one’ and saying, ‘You have not been forgotten.’  I know that this is what brought Tia out from the dark places she was forced into. And Chunty, and Kim and Meka and Nita and the many other girls we have had the privilege of working with.

Join with us at Bloom and see what can be accomplished by all of us working together.’
